Half a year. Half a Review. Full Whack.
As is the our annual habit, we are approaching our internal half year review - a review of the work, strategy and general ‘what kind of year it has been’ (to paraphrase a West Wing episode title for uber fans of fantasy centrist politics!). Open, transparent and forward-looking.
We’ve undergone some changes to how we collaborate, communicate and keep work flowing across desks - something that has helped the work and the bottom line, so always good to take stock and understand what has worked and why.
It’s a pretty transparent session - numbers shared, wins enjoyed, losses understood and the ongoing vision checked - together and open. Sharing is vital to what we do - many of our core values are based on a commitment of sharing and transparency. However this can be tough, like all worthwhile things, it takes real effort and hard work and we don’t always get it right but I believe that if the intent is there and you are honest about it, that’s half the battle. Which is why a regular review outwith the cut and thrust of a busy studio is vital.
However this can be tough, like all worthwhile things, it takes real effort and hard work…
However, just a review is pointless if there are no actions at the end - revised or new. It’s been a busy old year so far - not only with the work but with other initiatives we get involved with - local communities, schools, colleges and more. An honest discussion at the midway point will ensure we stay on track, keep the work at the high level we and our clients expect and continue to build our Creative Hub partnerships.
Also want to say thanks to our clients and collaborators, all of which ensure we can do the work, build the studio and have a longer term strategy in the first place.
What do you share? How do you check that your plans are on course? More importantly, what’s your favourite episode of The West Wing?
Eager to share war stories over a coffee anytime, just let me know.
