Say Hello...Jill Montgomery
Name: Jill Montgomery
Role: Junior Designer
Since: September 2016
WokWok Order: Half a 94 - The other half is shared with Gina ;)
For those who don’t know give us a quick rundown of what you do:
It’s my job as the junior designer to support the seniors in the team ;) I help with the design side of things, coming up with new ideas and make them look good. I’m still learning my role in the studio, and the many different processes of this industry from the guys who know it best.
Favourite aspect of your job:
For me it’s watching a project come to life from start to finish. I love being able to point to something and say we did that and watch the design do its job. At the end of a project, I like to look at any initial ideas and compare them to the final outcome to see how far it’s come, and what it could have been.
What do you like doing when you’re not in the studio?
Out with the studio I like to keep busy and active, no two weeks are the same. I play a sport twice a week (keep reading...it gets better) but other than that I like the usual stuff, eating out, cinema hit and an occasional trip to the gym. At weekends if i’m not using any excuse for a weekend away, I’ll head home to Turriff and visit my abnormally big family as my mum puts on one heck of a spread.
Tell us a wee something about you that folks might not know and or care about.
I attempt to play dodgeball. I say attempt as it’s a sport that I have only just started playing and have a long way to go before I can say I’m good at it, but I give it my best shot. We train twice a week and play along side all levels of ability, from beginners to both male and females that play for Scotland. It’s a new and upcoming sport in Scotland, and exciting to see it grow in Aberdeen. It’s both terrifying and exciting, but most of all it’s just good fun. We train mixed on a Monday at the Jesmond Center and ladies only on a Wednesday at the Danestone Community Centre, if anyone fancies giving it a go (first session free!!)
Lastly - what’s your guilty pleasure:
