Say Hello...Sam Longmire
Name: Sam Longmire
Role: Creative Director
Since: The start
WokWok Order: 93 with extra chillies
For those who don’t know give us a quick rundown of what you do:
It’s hard to say really, depending on what’s going on in the studio and what projects we’ve got on the go I could be doing anything...Designing UI, planning print layouts, taking product photos, annoying Gina, writing proposals, or art directing ad campaigns. I guess I am involved with most of the studio work at some stage, and get to help out whenever I’m needed - and often when I’m not.
Favourite aspect of your job:
That is impossible. Honestly there are so many good parts I couldn’t choose. The worst part however - that’s a no brainer - artworking for days straight, with a monster spreadsheet and infinite supply of highlighters - thankfully that’s not too common an occurrence these days (thanks Alex)!! I do enjoy pacing around the studio - throwing around ideas, talking through a brief concept or problem.
What do you like doing when you’re not in the studio?
I jump into 5mm of neoprene and go surfing - generally enjoy being outdoors and the sea. Commonly found walking the beasts - Bonnie and Eric - or in B&Q trying (badly) to do DIY.
Tell us a wee something about you that folks might not know and or care about.
I lived in a hut in Indonesia for the best part of a year, and was selected out of over 10,000 global applicants to exhibit my photos at the Royal Photographic Society’s 150th Annual Exhibition.
Lastly - what’s your guilty pleasure:
