Halstons - The New, Classic London Dry
Halstons is a contemporary London Dry Gin developed for Evercraft, a Georgian producer launching its first spirits range. Designed for an emerging market, the brand introduces the authority and codes of London gin culture through a modern, confident identity — balancing industrial heritage with refined restraint.
Evercraft approached FortyTwo to create a flagship gin brand capable of establishing immediate credibility in a developing premium spirits category.
The brief was to design a quintessentially London Dry Gin — one that felt authentic and export-ready, without relying on the familiar tropes that dominate the category.
The challenge lay in capturing the spirit of London itself: industrial yet elegant, confident but not over-done. The brand needed to feel established, signalling quality and provenance to a new audience while remaining contemporary and culturally relevant.
We began by stripping London Dry Gin back to its core principles — clarity, confidence and craft.
A custom-designed logotype sits at the centre of the brand. Drawing from London’s industrial heritage, it's precise and architectural in form, steering deliberately away from oft over used type and heritage cues.
The bottle reinforces this sense of permanence and authority. Transaprent blue fluted glass references the traditional apothecary vessels of old - while giving the visual depth and presence. The vertical ribs catch the light, creating a sense of movement without visual noise.
The label system is restrained while full. Full use of gold foiling, underwritten by complex blind embossing acts a centerpoint — a deliberate balance use of materials and process which signals quality and an unmistakable confidence.
Typography and layout are tightly composed, supported by limited use of secondary graphic devices that add detail without clutter, ensuring the brand communicates through restraint rather than excess.
Halstons presents London Dry Gin as a modern classic — considered, composed and unmistakably premium. The brand establishes Evercraft with an, ownable flagship spirit, introducing the codes of London gin to a new market without compromise.
Designed to stand confidently on shelf and scale across future expressions, Halstons balances history and modernity with clarity and intent — a contemporary interpretation of the London Dry, distilled.
